Last two weeks...

Well, I have some catching up to do since I haven't blogged for the last couple of weeks. Daron and I went to Palm Springs Jan. 20-24th. I was really looking forward to sun and heat, but we managed to be there at a time of record cold and rainfall! They got more rain while we were there than they usually get in a year! Lucky us! But we still had a great time because we went with three other couples, all friends from orthodontic school in Canada whom we hadn't seen for a while. We ate out at some great restaurants, caught up on each other's lives, slept in, read, went to a day spa, and relaxed. The guys were supposed to golf Thurs. and Friday, but there was too much rain. Saturday was gorgeous with lots of blue sky and sunshine so they were able to golf and we read by the pool.

The kids are busy with their activities. Maryn and Luke have piano lessons every Thursday. Luke is playing basketball and Daron is the coach. They have a good little team and enjoy playing together. Daron is so good with all the kids and really likes coaching. Maryn is playing volleyball and their games start this Sat. She has really enjoyed it so far and has some good friends on her team. Gabe does preschool Tues and Thurs afternoons, Luke has scouts, Maryn has Activity Days. I try very hard not to over schedule my kids because they love to just play with their friends and of course they have homework every day. But winter is a good time to play sports since they aren't running around outside quite as much. But really, my kids love to be outside and it doesn't seem to make much difference if it's hot or cold, rain or shine, they're outside doing something.
Here's Daron and his team. It looks like he's blowing a bubble, but I think it's the camera flash reflecting off the backboard.

This picture was taken when Ian, Gabe and Daron got home from Home Depot. Daron picked up some supplies to make a train table for an electric train the boys got for Christmas and this was the only way to fit it in the Excursion. This is Ian's smile whenever I tell him to smile for the camera.
These pictures were taken after I took Gabe to the doctor to get his immunizations. I told him if he was very brave when he got his shots I'd take him out to lunch anywhere he wanted to go. He chose Dairy Queen.
