We went to Utah for 1 1/2 weeks to visit family. Daron drove down with us on Thurs. and we went to his parents' first. On Friday, we did our annual trip to Lagoon with his mom and dad. His sister, Tama, and her kids came for the first time. The kids loved it and the only reason we left at a somewhat reasonable time (7:30 pm) was because it started pouring rain. Tama and I left our babies with Daron's cousin so we didn't have to worry about naps or keeping them occupied the whole time which was nice.
We did some swimming at Willow Creek, saw the movie Up, went to a museum, and the kids played and played. I love seeing the close relationship between my kids and Tama's kids. They love to be together and get along so well and have such a wonderful friendship. They are moving to Boise again and it will be great to see them more often. They spent hours in the scrub oak behind grandma and grandpa's house exploring and making forts. They were sure they had seen a bob cat, and kept coming up to the house with bones from who knows what. They tried putting their skeleton together, and Grandpa Mike figured they had bones from about four different animals. It was a kids heaven!

On Monday night, I went out with four friends that I met doing a study abroad in Israel when I was 19. Two of the girls are still two of my closest friends in the world, and the other two I hadn't seen for probably 15 years! We had so much fun reminising and cathching up. Some of the girls brought scrapbooks from our four months in Israel and we laughed at our dated clothes and hair. I realized from looking at the pictures that one of my good friends from my neighborhood here was in Israel with me! I had no idea, and obviously don't remember her being there with me.
On Sunday, Daron flew back to Idaho to go river rafting with my dad, three brothers, and my brother-in-law. On Tues. the kids and I went up to Park City to join my mom and my sister and her two kids while the guys were rafting. We had a great time while we were up there. My mom wanted to make sure the girls had fun while the guys played and treated my sister and me to a massage, manicure and pedicure, a movie, and dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak house. One day, we took the kids down to Gateway. We went to the Children's museum and then out to lunch. Ian refused to eat his ice cream cone the 'normal' way and insisted on chomping right through the cone.
Then we played in the water at the outdoor fountain. The kids loved it!.
My mom and sister took the babies home for naps while I took the other kids to the Planatarium where we saw a 3D movie and learned all about space. They were so interested in everything and we actually spent a few hours just in the museum part.
We also went to the Alpine slide.
Like usual, we had such a great time visiting family. I feel so blessed that my kids have cousins they love so much, that I have such a wonderful sister and sister-in-laws, and that I have parents and parents-in-law that are so kind and loving and such perfect grandparents.
