School Begins!

It's hard to believe school has started already; when I was growing up it always seemed to start after Labor Day. The summer flew by, but the kids were excited for the first day. We started the morning out with our traditional first day of school breakfast which is French Breakfast Puffs (yummy muffins that the kids dip in melted butter and then cinnamon/sugar), little smokies, fruit and OJ. Nothing like clogging the arteries for the first day!

Maryn and Luke both came home saying they really like their teachers. Maryn has Mrs. Cedergreen and Luke has Mrs. Colbert. They were excited to see who the new kids were in their classes. Since they are in a charter school, there is only one class per grade so the only change in classmates comes when kids move away. When that happens, someone on the waiting list joins the class. Since there are 1500 kids on the waiting list, I feel blessed that they're in their school; they're getting a great education.
